Drawing Challenge 2016 Week 8: The Story

Every image is part of a larger story. A snapshot of a larger idea. Artists throughout the ages have learned to tell their stories in a single breath of life, a single moment in time. An image can convey a myth or a legend with all of its detail, or show a moment of normal life through the emotion in the strokes of the pen or paintbrush.

This week, discover a way to tell a story in your drawing. You can use movement and gestures. You can play around with a storyboard style. Or you can go into the American style of comic books and graphic novels. Just tell us a story. Any story.

Please feel free to join us! All are welcome. Please follow these simple steps to send in your drawings and participate.

I’ve been playing around with the idea of a short comic, something like a full spread. You may recognize this from the sketches on the Full Page challenge, or from the Character challenge (yeah, I really like this guy). I still need to finish the background (esp bottom right), but its almost completely finished. – STKerr
