So many times, I find myself going back into a drawing to fix my mistakes. As artists, we are perfectionists. We erase. We cover up our mistakes. We use specific mediums to get the result that we want.
This week, the challenge is to create a drawing with only ink. No pencil under-layer. No erasing. Embrace your mistakes.
The reason: None of us are perfect. Flaunt it.
If you want to challenge yourself even more, give yourself a time limit. Lets say, 10-15 minutes?
Don’t try to be perfect, just be you.
All are welcome to join in on this adventure. Please follow these simple steps to send in your drawings and participate.
I almost always start every drawing with a pencil sketch, so jumping directly to ink was strangely satisfying for me. I started out with a .20mm Micron Pen and built up the lines with the .35mm and .50mm pens. I based the drawing off of three previous drawings and I enjoy how they came together. – STKerr
