The end of the year is upon us. It is often a time of reflection and a chance to look back to see how far we have come, how much we have grown. It is also a time to brace ourselves for another year of adventures, friendships, trials, and challenges.
As we finish out the year, the challenge of this week will be a little open ended: Looking Back.
This can mean a couple things, so I’ll give you some ideas to run with. Actual subject matter; draw something looking back at where it once was. Technique: Have the sketchbook in front of you and draw something behind you, forcing you to choose to either look at what you are drawing, or the drawing itself (almost like a blind drawing, but not quite). Or take it in your own direction: Draw yourself looking back at you from the page? Draw something from this past year that you wish to remember (or forget).
There are many ways you can interpret this, but remember, there is one thing that is the most important: have fun!
Everyone is welcome to join in on this adventure. Please follow these simple steps to send in your drawings and participate.
This was a quick drawing that I did with pen and pencil. Not really based on anyone specifically, but I did reference a couple different people that were around me. – STKerr
