This week we celebrated the independence of the United States from the British Empire. As we waved our flags and lit the sky with fireworks in celebration, the cry “freedom” echoed in our ears (cue Me Gibson from Braveheart).
Have you ever wanted to try something but were to afraid to do so? Have you ever held back from doing something different because you didn’t know how it would turn out?
This week, it’s all about freedom. Let go and do something that you’ve always held back. Try something new. Do something crazy. Laugh and have fun!
If you are interested in joining in, even if it is your first time, we’d love to have you join us. Please follow these simple steps to submit in your drawings to be shared!
Something I’ve always been afraid of doing has been illustration. Specifically, illustration on something that has been done before. I recently revisited the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and have found the urge to do something I’ve never done before. Part of the challenge is putting aside everyone else’s ideas and illustrations (or movies) of how something should look and just chase the image that is in your own mind. – STKerr
